I’m amused that the people angry at Lobdell about Tim forgiving Jason are the same people irrationally angry at Tim as a character for not forgiving Damian.
So..basically Tim should hate Jason for life for trying to kill him, despite then saying “You’re a decent replacement”, to asking Tim to be Jason’s Robin and Tim breaking Jason out of Jail. They worked out their differences, Jason acknowledged Tim as an equal. And Tim never hated Jason. In his early years Jason was someone he thought about frequently.
But he should forgive Damian for trying to kill him multiple times and acting like a supreme jackass every time they see each other to eventually replacing Tim as Robin because Damian is “just a little Kid”. Damian isn’t just a “little kid”, he’s a kid who has been trained from birth to be an assassin. He’s technically got more fighting and “Batman”-esque experience than Tim. He’s also far more mature than the average ten year old. And he constantly down talks Tim and insults him, never acknowledging Tim is an equal.
It just baffles me. And I hate the tumblr fandom ideal of Damian being this cuddly little ball of misunderstood fluff. He’s a dick. He’s a spoiled angry brat who thinks he’s better than just about everyone and that’s the point of his character. He’s so radically different from the other Robin’s but he was also the dark half of the Batman and Robin duo. He was the Bruce in the dynamic.
